Who we are
This website is run by Legacy Elite Real Estate ("Legacy Elite", "we", "us"), a real estate brokerage registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Our office is at 1611 One Space, Magnum Opus Building, Al Thanyah First, Barsha Heights, Dubai, UAE.
We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions, email info@legacyeliterealestate.com.
The information we collect
- Details you give us when you send an enquiry, request property details, complete our property brief, download our investment guide or subscribe to our emails: typically your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country, budget, the properties or areas you're interested in and anything you write in your message.
- Conversations with our team by email, WhatsApp, phone or video call.
- Purchase and identity information if you go ahead with a reservation or purchase, such as passport and ID copies, proof of address and source of funds, which UAE anti-money-laundering rules require us to collect.
- Technical information such as your IP address, browser and device, and the pages you visit. Our hosting provider records this in server logs to keep the website secure. We only use analytics cookies if you accept them (see Cookies).
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and send you the property information, shortlists, brochures and guides you asked for (to take steps at your request before a possible agreement).
- To arrange viewings, reservations and purchases with developers, sellers and the Dubai Land Department (to perform our agreement with you).
- To carry out identity and anti-money-laundering checks and keep the records the law requires (legal obligation).
- To send you news about new launches and the Dubai market if you subscribed (consent; you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email).
- To understand how visitors use the website and improve it, only if you accept analytics cookies (consent).
- To keep the website and our systems secure and to handle complaints or legal claims (legitimate interests).
We do not sell your personal data, and we don't use it for automated decisions that have legal effects on you.
Who we share it with
We only share your information when it's needed for the purposes above:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf: Netlify (website hosting and our online forms), Microsoft 365 (email), Zoho (email newsletters and forms), Meta's WhatsApp (if you message us there) and, only with your consent, Google Analytics.
- Developers, sellers, banks, mortgage advisers, conveyancers and the Dubai Land Department when you ask us to help you reserve, buy or finance a property.
- Authorities and regulators, such as the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), when the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of our service providers store data outside the UAE, for example in the European Union or the United States. Where that happens we rely on providers that offer appropriate safeguards for personal data, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and conversations: up to 3 years after our last contact with you, unless you become a client.
- Client and transaction records: for as long as UAE law requires, which is at least 5 years after the transaction for anti-money-laundering records.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, and, for people in the UK or EU, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR), you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data, or limit how we use it, where we don't need to keep it;
- stop using your data for marketing, or object to other uses based on our legitimate interests;
- withdraw any consent you've given (this doesn't affect what we did before);
- send your data to you or another organisation in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, email info@legacyeliterealestate.com. We'll reply within one month. If you're not happy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the data protection authority where you live (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office), but please contact us first so we can try to put it right.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. This website works without them.
- Analytics cookies (optional). If you click "Accept" on our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies called
_gaand_ga_<ID>(kept for up to 2 years) to count visits and see which pages are popular. Google Analytics is not loaded at all unless you accept, and we don't use advertising cookies. - Saved preferences. We store small settings in your browser's local storage, such as your cookie choice. These are not sent to us.
- Embedded content. Maps on property pages load from Google Maps only when you click to show them, and videos play through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. These services may set their own cookies when you use them; see Google's privacy policy.
You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Security
The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to our systems is limited to the staff who need it. No method of sending data over the internet is completely secure, so please don't send passport or bank details through our website forms; we'll give you a secure way to share them when needed.
Children
Our services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
